I'm with Equinox on this one. None of the citations on the citations page show out-of-universe use. Isn't WT:FICTION already our policy on this? Mglovesfun (talk) 14:47, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

I don't understand how any of the citations show in-universe use, nor how this could have any in-universe use. It's a strategy in a game, and not in the fictional universe of the game itself. Are circle-strafing, castling, or the chess sense of knight part of a fictional universes? --Yair rand (talk) 06:01, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

I agree, there was a similar incident where cryptex failed RFV despite being used in a well-known work (the Da Vinci Code) because it was ruled that that takes place in a fictional universe. Beer Parlour discussion coming right up. Mglovesfun (talk) 12:40, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Players of Mabinogi, a F2P MMORPG, have terms for battle tactics like N+1, smashmill, and fire-ice-counter, but they’re of no use outside discussions of Mabinogi and would not merit inclusion here. — Robin 16:19, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Assuming that "N+1", "smashmill" and "fire-ice-counter" are attestable by being available in three or more durably archived sources, why should we prevent readers of discussions or Mabinogi to learn and contribute here based on this personal interest? --Daniel. 16:38, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Hm, they may be attestable. Google search counts are 1280 for smashmill and 2650 for "fire ice counter" ("N+1" matches too broadly for a reliable count). (Also, 3480 for Curselax, 1820 for speedlots, and 49700 for zerging.) — Robin 18:24, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

This is not a term that originated in a fictional universe, so it wouldn't be subject to WT:FICTION. I'm not too impressed with the quotations, however. All are from alt.games.nintendo.pokemon except one listed as alt.games.pokemon but actually crossposted, not to mention that only one author uses his full name. These cannot be considered independent in my view. DAVilla 07:36, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
