Name of a cartoon character, or some character? We ain't an anime catalogue. Equinox 08:43, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Shot on sight, along with Japanese entry コロナちゃん. Deleted as "created in error". Literally anything can be personified by adding the personal suffixes さん (-san), ちゃん (-chan), etc.
I demur to be so quick to shoot down English Miss Rona and Vietnamese Cô Vy. I ask other editors to have a look and judge whether these are includable.
The creating user for all of these the Japanese entries was Hàlian (talkcontribs). @Hàlian, please note that any entry must meet the criteria at WT:CFI. ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 19:00, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
That seems more like an issue for RFD though. AG202 (talk) 20:24, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Not created in error; term is notable enough for inclusion in the Japanese Wikipedia. I simply hadn't gotten around to adding more references and attestations. :/ Hàlian (talk) 21:35, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Equinox, AG202, Hàlian: By "created in error", I did not mean to contest that this string exists in the wild -- rather, 1) the name is trivially understandable from its component pieces コロナ (korona) and ちゃん (-chan), and thus this is SOP (as I mentioned above about personification); and 2) this is a fictional character, and thus more appropriate to an encyclopedia (as Equinox pointed out) -- see Wiktionary:Criteria_for_inclusion#Wiktionary_is_not_an_encyclopedia. References and citations can only help if they can show that this has some idiomatic meaning other than the SOP sense of "personification of the coronavirus". I can restore the page and add to WT:RFD/CJK if so desired. ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 22:37, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I'd prefer that personally. AG202 (talk) 03:09, 25 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Also, @Hàlian, the notability that you mention is a criterion for inclusion in Wikipedia, but not here. Wiktionary has its own criteria for inclusion, which do not include notability. Please see Wiktionary is not Wikipedia for a fuller explanation, particularly the "Differences in content" subsection. ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 22:41, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
