Prakritisation of Sanskrit

[edit]

@Svartava2 Isn't the Prakritisation of Sanskrit the definition of Prakrit inheritance? Kutchkutch (talk) 11:41, 5 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Kutchkutch The argument is that terms cannot be inherited from classical Sanskrit (Bhagadatta @Talk:เฆนเฆฟเฆฎเฆพเฆšเฆฒ). For terms like ๐‘€”๐‘€š๐‘†๐‘€š๐‘€ฝ we assume that the terms was unattested in vedic literature but there in spoken vedic and hence inheritance is ok. Now I think same isn't for this word as it refers to a character in Mahabharata = sa-cls and there is IMO no question of Mahabharata being from Vedic (unattested or whatever) since it is literature coupled with the fact that the quotes are modern ones and even no google books mention this from 19th century. It's a modern word, safe to say, Prakritized. Since at that time Prakrit was dead already and not spoken so might as well be an lbor. Svartava2 (talk) 11:51, 5 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
