Min Dong
[edit]@Wyang, could you check the Min Dong pronunciation? 福州方言詞典 (1998) says that 雙 stays as /søyŋ⁵⁵/ (without any tone sandhi). — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 06:48, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
- @Justinrleung I can't verify this word personally with the native Fuzhounese speakers I know. IMO A tone change is very likely, since the initial of 徛 is nasalised, and the example after shows 雙 with tone sandhi. The tone change for the first syllable of a three-syllable word is reasonably easy to predict, if the second syllable is not 陽平 or 陽入 it will always be reduced to a half-陰去 (21).
