- @Suzukaze-c Well, there are two
|md=
values... Wyang (talk) 07:47, 21 November 2017 (UTC)- orz
- But also, it seems like 侯 is read with a different tone from normal (
闽侯(hòu)县
—Baidu Baike), so I was wondering if the dialectal pronunciations may be wrong. —suzukaze (t・c) 07:49, 21 November 2017 (UTC)- Indeed. I suspect Min Dong BUC should be Mìng-hâiu (which has the same pronunciation as the current Mìng-âu). I asked in the WeChat group for 榕腔 volunteers. Wyang (talk) 08:55, 21 November 2017 (UTC)
- I've confirmed the Min Nan pronunciation with 普通話閩南方言常用詞典 (but its Mandarin pronunciation is given as Mǐnhóu, which is a common variant according to this). I've corrected 閩 for Hakka; I'm not sure where mèn comes from. Theoretically in Cantonese this would be man5 hau6, but I'm not sure about this. — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 09:01, 21 November 2017 (UTC)
- Min Dong BUC Mìng-âu verified, thanks to the kind help from @GnuDoyng. The related 侯官 is Âu-guăng, pronounced as /au²⁴²⁻⁵⁵ (k-)uaŋ⁵⁵/. Wyang (talk) 08:16, 22 November 2017 (UTC)
- @Wyang, Suzukaze-c I was probably too tired that day when I checked the Min Nan pronunciation... it's actually hoo5 instead of hau5. — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 00:59, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
