Which Characters
[edit]@Justinrleung I found that this word in MOEdict is 窸倏 (sī-sōa), but in 闽南方言大词典 it is 是煞 (sī-soah/sǐ-soah). Do you think we should have different entries, or same entries, and if same entries which characters? Thanks. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 16:29, 16 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Mar vin kaiser: I'm not sure, but the two seem to be related. Rev. Douglas's Chinese-English dictionary of the vernacular or spoken language of Amoy also has sī-sōa, so the sī-soah pronunciation may have developed later on. (Also, it seems sī used to be a word by itself, e.g. in Douglas: "khah-sī--leh, walk quicker! get on!") I think it'd be good to put them together at one entry, and 窸倏 should be a good choice since it's recommended by the MoE. Other ways it's written are 迅速, 彳亍 and 時紲. — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 18:42, 16 June 2019 (UTC)
