@Atitarev I think this is sum of parts: 生 (to be born) + 得 (to the extent of). Similar constructions include: 他長得很漂亮 (He looks beautiful), 他跑得很快 (He runs very fast), etc. It is, however, a valid word in Japanese and Korean. Wyang (talk) 07:07, 22 April 2017 (UTC)

@Wyang Thanks. Both 生得 and 長得／长得 (zhǎng de) are included in the ABC dictionary. 長得 is transliterated "zhǎng de" but 生得 "shēngde". They are border cases, IMO, and from a foreign language speaker's point not so intuitive, unlike 跑得. I actually planned to add 長得／长得 a long time ago. They no longer have just the original meaning "to be born (as)" or "grow up (as)". I am going add a space in pinyin. --Anatoli T. ^{(обсудить}/^вклад) 07:19, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
