Xiamen tâm-ma-ka
[edit]@Mar vin kaiser Could you check if the newer edition of 闽南方言大词典 still has tam2-5 ma1-6 ka1? The 2-5 tone change is unusual. The recording with the dictionary doesn't sound like tam2-5 ma1-6 ka1, but more like tam3-1 ma3-1 ka1. — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 08:54, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Justinrleung: Yep, says 2-5. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 11:53, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Mar vin kaiser: Ok. What should we do then? Is it tâm-ma-ka (original tones), tām-ma-ka (expected tone given the sandhi) or tám-má-ka (per the recording)? — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 14:20, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Justinrleung: I think it makes more sense to follow the recording. Notations can be wrong, but recordings would reflect the actual, right? I would assume that for now, and ask natives for verification. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 15:08, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Mar vin kaiser: Ok, I'll change it to tám-má-ka for now. — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 19:10, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
