Japanese -suru form

@Eirikr, Shen233 Pinging Japanese editors, please feel free to ping more. I just wanna bring up the word 徹する. Why is it that 発する is an entry but 徹する is found under 徹? Mar vin kaiser (talk) 02:26, 4 December 2024 (UTC)

@Mar vin kaiser: (Added here: diff) I don't know why it was done but I disagree that it should be done. For grammatical as well as phonological reasons, I view 徹する, 発する etc. as single words and not as "something+する" SOPs and as such they should be lemmatized as "...する". — Fytcha〈 T | L | C 〉 15:14, 5 December 2024 (UTC)

Not sure why the discrepancy with 徹する, but I agree with Fytcha that they feel more like separate verbs than just nominals with する tacked onto the end of them. The consensus with words like 発する and 達する, along with the entire category of 〜ずる verbs (such as 感ずる), seems to be creating separate entries. Not to mention "te' suru" seems to me like an incorrect romanization, and I'm not aware of a way to get the correct one using {{ja-verb-suru}}. I say 徹する (and others like it) should get its own entry. Ookap (talk) 17:20, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
