Dice Game

@Mlgc1998 Could you repeat the reason for adding "tùi-tâng" again? I believe you said your dad says it that way, but I wanna understand how many people echoed this same pronunciation. Because people I know say "tùi-tn̂g" and even 闽南方言大词典 in p.667 says it's "tùi-tn̂g". Mar vin kaiser (talk) 08:11, 8 December 2023 (UTC)

@Mar vin kaiser can't remember who or which persons I asked last time, but I asked again tonight just now both my parents independently in different rooms alone again showing the dice bowl with those combination of dice again and they just both independently alone remember tùi-tn̂g. I think I remembered someone telling me tùi-tâng was a thing too and I didn't discount it as mandarin cuz the 2nd syllable was pronounced as tâng (POJ) instead of thâng (POJ) or táng (pinyin). Then, when I went to search "tùi-tâng" in ChhoeTaigi, a bunch of dictionaries came up with "對同 tùi-tâng" as the entry and when I translated the japanese and mandarin definitions, they seemed to make sense for what the combinations basically are. As for the characters, I think I remembered 對堂 because my guama always kept paper print outs of each of the dice game prize tags and put the money prizes underneath the prize tags with a paper weight and that was one of the chinese characters printed on them, which I always saw when my first cousins decide to invite us over to play the dice game every year, except during covid. The 闽南方言大词典 writes "对长" tho. I remember also consulting google images and some websites or pdf papers I found online before that explained the mooncake dice game rules and checking if everything was consistent and if they put any additional terms they also used which I later asked my parents as well about. I delineated the Hokkien and Mandarin labels as well into separate columns in the wikipedia article as well about Bo Bing (game) before. @Mlgc1998: The characters used doesn't matter, whether it's 對堂, 對同, or 對長. What matters is whether the word "tùi-tâng" is used in the Dice Game. Because if no one calls that dice combo specifically as "tùi-tâng", then we have to only leave "tùi-tn̂g". @Mar vin kaiser can remove it. The person who I might've heard it from might not remember anymore unless it was from some website or paper I came across before. They were probably confused with the Mandarin term but in Hokkien phonology, although the existing Hokkien 對同／对同 (tùi-tâng)'s definition is a bit pondersome as to their relation to tùi-tn̂g.
