Talk:利
Add topicFinal -t
[edit]In Han dynasty Buddhist documents this character is used for open syllables, i.e. without an -s, so in Old Chinese it must not have ended with a -t but rather a -j or -k. As such, the proposed etymology must be wrong. --Tibetologist (talk) 21:53, 9 January 2025 (UTC)

Mandarin readings
[edit]Can it be added in which contexts the various Mandarin readings are used? 71.66.97.228 00:23, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Can it be added in which contexts the two different Mandarin readings are used? 173.89.236.187 02:44, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
- By the way, may I request that you add these types of questions to within the entry itself instead? An editor will be more likely to find it that way, meaning that it is more likely to be addressed. Case in point: Category:Mandarin terms needing attention has over 1000+ entries in it, most of which seem to be talk pages. It wouldn't surprise me if many of them are stale and outdated, unaddressed because they're hidden away on talk pages. —suzukaze (t・c) 23:54, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
Whatever the reason the questions are ignored and unaddressed, sometimes for years and years, it leads to an unprofessional, embarrassing project. 173.89.236.187 00:10, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
- They're ignored because you put them in places no one looks. :/ —suzukaze (t・c) 00:14, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
