[edit]Does it really mean "cow king"? 24.29.228.33 05:38, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- No, it’s an old abbreviation of Angkor Râat (อังกอร์). —Stephen 06:02, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, can it be explained what the "raat" part is, because "Angkor" doesn't have "raat" in it. Wikipedia states that Khorat comes from "Angkor Raj." 24.29.228.33 05:13, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Isn't it from ราช? This should be added to the etymology. 24.29.228.33 05:41, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, the last part is from ราช. Final j becomes t as expected. —Stephen 18:07, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
- About Angkor + raj, it is just the word of mouth. See the current detail with references. --Octahedron80 (talk) 01:28, 20 November 2021 (UTC)
