@शब्दशोधक It doesn't seem likely that लग् is the source of लिङ्ग. The root लिङ्ग् is of course a back formation. The true etymology of लिङ्ग might be Indo-Iranian (I'll add some stuff later today). But not लग्. -- 𝓑𝓱𝓪𝓰𝓪𝓭𝓪𝓽𝓽𝓪^{(𝓽𝓪𝓵𝓴)} 10:02, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
