@Fay Freak, I am not aware of an internal Armenian xr ~ rx fluctuation. There is ճախր (čaxr) ~ չարխ (čʻarx), but it reflects the fluctuation within Iranian. I now have doubts if մախր (maxr) can be explained by Modern Persian مرخ (marx). --Vahag (talk) 14:22, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Calak. Maybe you want to create the Kurdish or say something else. I’d claim that the Persian is from Arabic, even the definition looks like in Arabic dictionaries, comparing with عَفَار (ʕafār). Fay Freak (talk) 14:25, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Fay Freak Asatrian derives Kurdish merx from Armenian, ultimately from Hurrian; but this can't explain Persian equivalent.
- About xr/l ~ l/rx, this is a common development in New Persian; comapre NP surx MP suxr, NP nirx PIr. *ni-xri-, NP talx MP taxl, NP Balx, OP Bāxtri. But I am not aware of this development in Arabic loanwords.--Calak (talk) 08:31, 6 October 2018 (UTC)
