@Benwing2 I confess my total ignorance of Arabic, and perhaps I should wait for Fay Freak to reply, but is it possible you made a typo for قاص (qāṣ) or similar, substituting an "m" in place of the "q"? This is what I find when I search Steingass for "narrator" [1]. The semantics of a term that means both "foot soldier" and "narrator" seem unbelievable.
