- Persian سیل (seyl), سیلاب (seylâb, “flood”) exist, but شلاب (šelâb) is probably an alteration of šolâb, a regular sound change, which I have little to no idea about its etymology (except the âb part of course) but looks to be unrelated to seyl. --Z 13:05, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
