Ok y'all, stop warring. @Irman: In what ways is Cheung "full of mistakes?" MacKenzie is quite out of date and not even close to an etymological dictionary. OP θ > MP s is the standard outcome, cf. PIr *θaxtah > MP saxt ("hard"). SW Iranian took on the meaning "to weigh (down)". MP hancyt ("to draw (water)") is a borrowing from NW Iranian. --Victar (talk) 07:32, 25 February 2018 (UTC)

سنجیدن

The verb سنجیدن (sanjidan) is from Middle Persian snc- (sanǰ-), from Proto-Indo-European *ḱenk- (“to waver, be in suspense”). I wrote it on etymology section but erased many times by vandals so this is for record in history. — This unsigned comment was added by Irman (talk • contribs).

This is a wiki, so no one "owns" anything, and disagreeing with anyone on the details of an etymology doesn't make anyone a vandal. @Irman Like it or not, you'll have to respond to the substance of the questions asked if you want to be taken seriously.
