Compare Northern Kurdish pizik, zipik, zîpik (“pimple; pustule; boil, sore, ulcer”), Central Kurdish زیپکە (zîpke, “small boil, pimple”).--Calak (talk) 20:30, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
- Very good, @Calak. I added the comparison. --Vahag (talk) 15:15, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- @Vahagn Petrosyan: Couldn't find Persian pažmūy, anyway both Tukish and Persian are unrelated. Kurdish pizi/o/ûk is from piz + diminutive suffix. I think that piz is related to Kurdish verb ھەڵپِزان (hellpizan), ھەڵپِز- (hellpiz-, “to swell”) (hell is a preverb), so literally pizi/o/ûk means "like a small swelling".--Calak (talk) 16:58, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- @Calak: this seems plausible. Feel free to add it to the entry. I am going on a wikibreak and won't be able to contribute actively in the near future. --Vahag (talk) 16:09, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
