Etymology

Hey @Andrew012p,

I was digging around to figure out the etymology of this word, and it seems that it may come from Greek, at least according to a dialectology book I found online, with a meaning of "to stop". I think the verb in question is παύω (pávo, “to stop”); one of its forms in the present tense is precisely πάψω (pápso).

@Chernorizets, thank you. I think you're right. Папса in Macedonia at least is used only in the southern part, I have heard it in Ohrid and Bitola. So very likely it has Greek origin but different meaning than "stop". It's not dialectal as in Bulgarian, so I'll put it as regional. Usually, the etymology is written here but there wasn't any.
