There have to be a noun after this word. мэ is like "this" in "this" person or "this" object.

Example : мэ бэнанэ - this banana (бэнанэ = banana).

мэ пшъашъэ - this girl (пшъашъэ = girl)

мэ кӀалэм еӀуэ - this boy is saying (кӀалэ = boy, еӀуэ = he is saying)

мэ мэгъэ = this year (гъэ = year)
