Γειά σας!
Imperative, perfective singular: 2 identical forms? παράγγειλε, παράγγειλε
Possibly (?): παρήγγειλε, παράγγειλε — This unsigned comment was added by 217.149.164.49 (talk) at 18:34, 7 May 2021 (UTC).
- Thank you guest, 217.149.164.49 it was a mistake: for both aorists εγώ παράγγειλα and its variant εγώ παρήγγειλα (I ordered) the imperatives coincide: «παράγγειλε αυτό το πράγμα σε παρακαλώ!» (please order this thing!) The -η- is an intenral augment exclusively for past tenses.
- Compare to an easier verb γράφω περιγράφω
- Εγώ έγραψα χθες (Ι wrote yesterday). Compound: Εγώ περιέγραψα χτες (I described yesterday). Imperative: γράψε αυτό το γράμμα! (write this letter). περι+γράψε=περίγραψε όλες τις λεπτομέρειες! (describe all the details!) It is a common mistake to put the augment (-έ+γραψ) at the imperative.
- Thank you for spotting the repetition. We will have to check all verbs with double past tenses.(Note:@Saltmarsh, I shall go through them) ‑‑Sarri.greek ♫ | 01:52, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- Ok, done. I have changed the parameter to avoid repetition. Also, at verbs that might get an extra past form in the future. ‑‑Sarri.greek ♫ | 15:29, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- Ευχαριστώ πολύ! Also for the important information about augment and tenses! I recognized the difference when exercising imperatives, but didn’t know the background. — This unsigned comment was added by 217.149.164.80 (talk) at 14 May 2021.
