Lemma?
[edit]@Saltmarsh: Shouldn't this be at ανοίγω το δρόμο (anoígō to drómo)? And why isn't it τον δρόμο? --Barytonesis (talk) 16:04, 22 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Barytonesis : since it's entered as a "phrase" I'm not sure if lemma is the right word - but this form is more common than "ανοίγω το δρόμο" - I've created this "alternative" — Saltmarsh. 16:13, 22 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Saltmarsh: But my point is that we should "lemmatise" this as ανοίγω το δρόμο (anoígō to drómo), because that's what we always do, even if it's not necessarily the form occurring most often in running text. --Barytonesis (talk) 16:22, 22 July 2017 (UTC)
- OK do it :) — Saltmarsh. 16:28, 22 July 2017 (UTC)
- Ok, but before I do that, why isn't it τον δρόμο? δρόμος should be masculine. @Xoristzatziki? --Barytonesis (talk) 16:32, 22 July 2017 (UTC)
- I think "Most often used" is not a criterion. Only in rare cases the "non regular form" is used, probably when the "regular form" either is not used or is usually used literally. Babiniotis has all forms (in δρομος) in first personal "ανοίγω δρόμο", "ανοίγω τον δρόμο", "παίρνω δρόμο" etc. Εven has "δρόμο παίρνω, δρόμο αφήνω", which is mostly used in fairy tales, in third person. --Xoristzatziki (talk) 16:49, 22 July 2017 (UTC)
- Done. --Barytonesis (talk) 17:10, 22 July 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks - but I think that the form marked for deletion should remain! — Saltmarsh. 07:33, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
