Stär
Appearance
Luxembourgish
[edit]Etymology
[edit]From Middle High German stërne, from Old High German sterno.
Although the form Stär would seem at first sight to be derived from the variant sterro, it is indeed from sterno since -är is the regular Luxembourgish development of Old High German -ern- (compare gär from gerno, and Kär from kerno).
Pronunciation
[edit]Noun
[edit]Stär m (plural Stären, diminutive Stärchen)
