[edit]From local Late Latin Richilani, an improper genitive form of Richila,[1] from a Suevic personal name (Rechila, Richila), from *Rīkjilô,[2] from Proto-Germanic *rīkijaz (“noble, mighty”) and the diminutive personal suffix *-ilan-.[3]
