Problems

[edit]

1-) I am unsure about the existence of the letter "ڤ", I don't know If I've written them correct. Do y'all know does the letter "ڤ" corresponds "w" ?

2-) Turkish and Azerbaijani verbs yuvarlama(k/q)- obviously inherited from this root. I did my best about reconstruction and I am sure. Ardahan Karabağ (talk) 19:10, 2 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Idk abt your first question but your reconstruction for yuvarla is wrong, old texts have yuvala- and yuvalak meaning they are the primary form; the suffix is probably the deverbal verb forming -AlA- seen in Az and Tr (yaxala- < *yayka-, çalkala- < *çalka-) for this reason, these forms should not be reconstructible to PTr as iirc the suffix only exist in Az-Tr. Thank you, and you are right it is only existed in Az-Tr. The suffix -ala seems also used in that root. Ardahan Karabağ (talk) 05:21, 3 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
  1. ڤ corresponds to /v/, not /w/.
  2. If we don't have an Ogur descendant, we reconstruct it as Common Turkic (trk-cmn).
