Is there a reliable source for usul and osal being derived from this?
[edit]Is there a reliable source for this etymology? If so please add. Most sources that I've seen give Arabic اصول as the source for the Turkish word with heavy metaphorical semantic expansion (cf. Nişanyan's examples and explanation), the Turkmen osal meaning situation/status is more semantically obvious. Yorınçga573 (talk) 15:06, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
