Etymology

[edit]

I disagree with:

from *(s)ptyēw- (to spit, vomit).

See Appendix:Proto-Indo-European/plew-#Root for a likely cognate. Zezen (talk) 18:31, 29 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Can you give some arguments, or is this just your or someone else's personal opinion? —CodeCat 18:33, 29 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

After reading the Russian etymology, with the Baltic cognates, I change it to "weakly" and will revert myself at the related PIE root. Zezen (talk) 18:38, 29 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Update: after reading płuco and the Balto-Slavic cognates, I change it to plain "disagree", see *pljūťè.Zezen (talk) 20:44, 29 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
