Possible cognate with Proto-Afroasiatic *tVl "hill"

[edit]

Could Semitic *ʕat-tar, Tamazight i-tri, Hausa tauraro, meaning ("star"), be related to words meaning "mountain" and "heaps of, to pile up, collections" referring to how hills and stars are heaps of collections and pile ups? Compare Somali taallo, tuulan ("heap"), Hausa taaraa, tari "pile, collection, to gather", Akkadian til-um ("hill"). A sound shift tVl > tau compare Hausa tsau-ni ("hill"), Ancient Egyptian dw ("mountain") > Coptic toou ("mountain"), Coptic toou-te ("to gather"). Kumwawa (talk) 14:32, 10 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
