@Kwékwlos, surely the proposed Yoron derivation from 手ぬ首 would mean wrist, not neck? C.f. mainland Japanese 手首 (tekubi, wrist).

Indeed, Thorpe (1983) indicates the compound word in Yonaguni (not Yoron) with the meaning "wrist". Looks like I forgot to put the meaning on it. Kwékwlos (talk) 21:14, 22 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
