@Victar Sivandi is not southwestern.--Calak (talk) 17:01, 5 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Calak: See w:Western Iranian languages. --Victar (talk) 17:12, 5 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Victar No, it is incorrect please correct it. Check Sivandi in ethnologue.--Calak (talk) 17:44, 5 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Calak, you might want to work on your bedside manner. We are not beholden to Ethnologue. Windfuhr (2009) also places Sivandi within the Persid language group, and I'll take a published work over a website any day. --Victar (talk) 19:23, 5 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Victar Well I suggest "third opinion", because I am sure Sivandi is northwestern like Kurdish. Thank you.--Calak (talk) 19:47, 5 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
Sure. Create a query post in the Beer Parlour, and please be sure to tag me. My understanding is that is is closest to the w:Northwestern Fars language. --Victar (talk) 21:16, 5 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Calak, I've changed it to your recommendation. After reading Windfuhr (2009) again, I think the confusion is whether the Persid group belongs to SWI or NWI, which seems to depend on how you group Luri. The Wikipedia articles cites "Languages preceded by question marks, and many of the varieties of Persian, are from other sources", but I've yet to find this paper anywhere online. Perhaps if someone finds it, we can reassess.--Victar (talk) 08:55, 6 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Old Persian

[edit]

@Victar Hi. Check your subpage; PIE. *ḱw > PIr. *ĉw- > OP. s, Av. sp. Your reconstruction for Old Persian is incorrect, it should be *siša; so Middle Persian, Persian and Tajik forms are northwestern loanwords. Luri and Bakhtiari show true southwestern form šeš < seš < *siša. Thanks.--Calak (talk) 07:44, 6 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, @Calak. I missed that. --Victar (talk) 08:16, 6 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
