Reconstruction talk:Proto-Indo-European/kʷís
Add topicQuestion about the 'Italic' header. It lists only Romance languages as far as I can tell, but shouldn't Italic also include languages like Oscan or Etruscan and what not? Isn't there anything known about descendants from *kʷis in those languages? 81.68.255.36 09:21, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- Of course there are other Italic descendants besides Romance, it's just that we may not have editors who know them. If you know them, feel quite free to add them. -Atelaes λάλει ἐμοί 10:02, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- Etruscan is not an Indo-European language. Oscan contributions are welcome, preferably in proper script. --Ivan Štambuk 15:00, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
Oh sorry, I knew there were more Italic languages other than Latin/Romance languages, but I am no expert on Etruscan or Oscan. I simply looked at w:Italic_languages. I suppose there are almost no speakers of these languages except for Latin? 81.68.255.36 18:40, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- They all died out as Romans eventually conquered the rest of the Apennine peninsula. --Ivan Štambuk 19:03, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Baltic?
[edit]Why are there no baltic contributions such as Lithuanian koks? I looked for the translation under "what" and it doesn't exist either. Just the article. ???? 130.64.102.236 15:01, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- Because nobody has added them yet. Duh! --Ivan Štambuk 16:44, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
