Mismatch between reconstruction and proposed descendants

Although the listed descendants are obviously akin, I don't see how they would descend from a simple (bharati-type) thematic present. Slavic displays 0-grade (tudati-type) thematic present, Baltic displays secondary ye-present, and in Old English only the participle is attested.
