@Dragonoid76 Hi, I had a closer look at this and I noticed that Pokorny doesn't really say they are the same root, it's simply a suggestion at the bottom of page 455. Derksen also gives two roots: *gʰreb- for gràbiti and *gʰrebʰ- for gretì.

So I'm inclined to give two roots after all. I also doubt whether *gʰrebh₂- would work for Proto-Germanic *graban- as PIE *b normally becomes PG *p. Exarchus (talk) 18:02, 22 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
