Dutch addition

[edit]

Can someone add "erven" to "Dutch: erf", please? That is the Dutch verb meaning "to inherit". It is derived from Proto-West Germanic *arbijan, from Proto-Germanic *arbijaną, denominative from *arbiją. Or else the link to *arbiją on this page should be changed, or "erven" and similar verbs of Proto-Germanic origin should be added to the root present there. I don't know what would be the preferred option for linguists. In any case, those descendants are ultimately derived from the PIE root *h₃erbʰ-, but that information is completely missing from that page.

Edit: I didn't think about it yesterday, but the noun "erfenis" ("inheritance, heritage") should likewise be included. Heunir (talk) 00:36, 24 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
