@Mnemosientje, Mahagaja is there precedent for Gothic au being borrowed into Latin as ō̆? Continental WG *Ōdwaker seems like a much better fit for Latin Ō̆doacer than Gothic *𐌰𐌿𐌳𐌰𐍅𐌰𐌺𐍂𐍃 (*audawakrs). I only kept this entry because of the source on the Latin page, which presumes the name Gothic because of Flavius Odoacer, but he was only declared Gothic centuries later. --{{victar|talk}} 17:38, 10 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

I don't know if there's precedent, but since 𐌰𐌿 < PGmc. *au was probably pronounced /ɔː/, it's not particularly unlikely. —Mahāgaja · talk 18:44, 10 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
