[edit]Akin to Proto-Mongolic *kücin (“power, strength”) which may be a Turkic borrowing.
- Nişanyan suggests from *kü- (“to force, to be powerful”) which is also root of Old Turkic 𐰚𐰇𐰼 (kür, “bully, to be able to, valiant”)
