Proto-Turkic
[edit]Etymology
[edit]There have been attempts (such as Räsänen's) to connect this word with Proto-Uralic *tewä (“deer”) noting that the Siberian descendants have the meaning "deer", however this is not generally accepted and may simply be a coincidence.
