[edit]Reflexive of *ïna-, related to Ottoman Turkish [script needed] (inak, “trustful (person)”), Turkish inak (“dogma”); Ottoman Turkish [script needed] (inam, “bailee; faith”), Turkish inam (“deposit”), Azerbaijani inam (“believing, trust, faith”) and Kumyk инам (inam, “faith”). Relation with Common Turkic *ïšan-, *išen- (“to believe, trust”) is not clear.
