Reconstruction:Proto-Germanic/klaiþą
Appearance
Proto-Germanic
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Traditionally derived from Proto-Indo-European *gleyt-, an extension of the root *gley- (“to cling to, stick to, adhere”); however, the semantics are not particularly strong, as Kroonen notes, who leaves the origin open.[1]
