[edit]From Proto-Indo-European *h₂ent- (“forehead”). Related to Lithuanian añtis (“bosom”),[1] Latin antiae (“forelocks”), Old Irish étan (“forehead”). Compare *andijaz (“end”) and *umbi (“around”).
