Proto-Finnic

[edit]

Etymology

[edit]

Unknown, but apparently contains the suffix *-ëda. At times a root *soka (filth) has been posited. For the semantics "filth" > "blind", compare how Proto-Germanic *blindaz (blind) was derived from *blandaną (to make murky).

Adjective

[edit]

*sokëda[1]

  1. blind
