[edit]An apparent sound-symbolic word. Similar-sounding words of similar meaning include Proto-Slavic *groza, Ancient Greek γοργός (gorgós, “fierce”), and Proto-Celtic *gargos (“fierce”).[1] All of these may also be sound-symbolic formations.
