From Proto-Iranian *Hr̥jifyáh, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *Hr̥ȷ́ipyás. Cognate with Old Persian *r̥difyah, Avestan 𐬆𐬭𐬆𐬰𐬌𐬟𐬌𐬌𐬀 (ərəzifiia) and Sanskrit ऋजिप्य (ṛjipya).[1]
