[edit]Etymology
[edit]From polo (“a Polish person”) + lando (“land”), calque of English Poland.
Its popularity over the synonyms Polujo and Polio are likely an influence of the English language, and to a lesser extent non-European languages with English-derived names for the country, such as Chinese 波蘭 / 波兰 (Bōlán), Japanese ポーランド (Pōrando), Korean 폴란드 (Pollandeu), Indonesian Polandia, Hindi पोलैंड (polaiṇḍ), etc.
Pronunciation
[edit]Proper noun
[edit]Pollando (accusative Pollandon)

- Synonyms: Polio, Polujo
- Meronyms: Bjalistoko, Varsovio
