- (strictly) a clause that does not contain a verb
- (broader, possibly dated) a clause that does not contain a verb other than a copula, thus a Nominalsatz (in the strict sense) or a Kopulasatz
Usage notes
[edit]- Neither of the two definitions has anything to do with English nominal clause, the German term for which is Gegenstandssatz or Inhaltssatz.
