Kuching

[edit]

@Wiikipedian, is 得 used after the verb or before the verb in Kuching? Could you give some examples? — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 02:47, 30 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Justinrleung: It can be used both before and after the verb, like in Mandarin. 你能来吗?(Mandarin) 你得来无?(Hakka) 你来,能吗?(Mandarin) 你来,得无?(Hakka) Note: I am not sure if the Hakka equivalent for the Mandarin 吗, pronounced as "mo2", is written as 无, or other character with the same pronunciation, such as 未, 冇, 毋, etc. Wiikipedian (talk) 02:59, 30 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Wiikipedian: Okay, thanks. That’s definitely different from how 得 is usually used in HK Cantonese, where 我能來 in Mandarin would be 我嚟得. I think mo2 should be 無. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 03:21, 30 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
