沐浴
[edit]Does 沐浴 fit into this table anywhere? —suzukaze (t・c) 22:06, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
- I guess it could be put under formal, right, @Wyang, Tooironic? — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 22:09, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think formal would be where it should be put. Wyang (talk) 23:24, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
Min Nan
[edit]@Justinrleung, Mar vin kaiser, Hongthay Also 灇浴? Which dialect(s) would it be? Wyang (talk) 11:41, 8 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Wyang: I’m only aware of Penang Hokkien using this. It’s definitely uncommon in Taiwan, and I don’t think it’s common in the three main cities in southern Fujian. I’ll have to look through the resources for the other cities/counties to see if it’s used elsewhere. — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 14:17, 8 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Wyang: Turns out I was wrong. Minnan Fangyan Da Cidian does have 灇浴 (written as 沯浴) for Xiamen and Zhangzhou, defining it as 沖涼,洗澡,多指用水沖洗. — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 22:25, 8 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Justinrleung Ah great, thanks! Wyang (talk) 01:49, 9 October 2017 (UTC)

Hong Kong Cantonese
[edit]@Justinrleung I don't think 洗身 is used in Hong Kong Cantonese to mean "to take a shower or bath". Most people would understand 洗身 as washing the body as opposed to 洗頭 (washing one's hair). RcAlex36 (talk) 04:47, 27 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Justinrleung: 賣魚佬洗身 is an idiom so I guess that doesn't count. RcAlex36 (talk) 05:11, 27 July 2020 (UTC)
- @RcAlex36: Okay, we can take it out. — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 06:28, 27 July 2020 (UTC)
