- Anecdotal I guess. I have a friend whose maternal grandparents are from Hankow and they call them 阿公 and 阿婆. It's possible they weren't originally from there though. Btw I don't see a citations section on any of these modules, is there one somewhere?--Prisencolin (talk) 02:50, 21 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Prisencolin: Is that in standard Mandarin or in Wuhanese? That could make the difference. Also, since Wuhan Fangyan Cidian doesn't include a lot of terms with the suffix 阿, I am a bit doubtful that it's Wuhanese. I could be wrong, but since you don't speak Wuhanese yourself, we don't have anyone here who speaks Wuhanese, and I can't find any other source that can verify this, we'll have to remove it.
