貴方

[edit]

@The dog2 I'm not sure if it's used to refer to a person or a side in a contract. @Tooironic, Nyarukoseijin, 沈澄心, thoughts? — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 16:58, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Justinrleung: I think it has a pretty broad meaning, so it can refer to either a person, an organisation or whatever. It's something I was taught to use in school when writing formal letters, including in cases when I am supposed to be addressing an individual on behalf of a company. @Justinrleung: I hadn't seen this word in Chinese until I visited java.com (please open this page on PC) (下载 Java 表示贵方确认已阅读并接受……许可协议的条款) qwq. I think 貴方贵方 (guìfāng, “your side?”) is opposite to 我方 (wǒfāng, “our side”). -- 13:29, 1 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
@The dog2, 沈澄心: I've removed it for now. I don't think it's necessarily referring to one person, but the other party/side, which could be of any number. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 14:15, 1 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
