kne-pron

[edit]

@Yivan000 I recommend you forking tl-pronunciation instead of ilo-pron but combine elements from ilo-pron you seem fit for Kankanaey. I've been editing tl-pron more so it's more complex yet more accurate especially if you know regular expressions. 𝄽 ysrael214 (talk) 11:19, 26 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Yivan000 Also is it really a /ɯ/ and not /ə/? Sources say otherwise. 𝄽 ysrael214 (talk) 11:52, 26 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
It may take me a while to go through the code, since tl-pronunciation is more complex. It's a drop-in replacement naman, right? If so then I can just copy-paste it in.
As for the second point, huh it's weird. The "ë" should represent a schwa, but it appears that both handles it differently:
{{ilo-IPA|bë7ëy}}IPA(key): /ˈbɯʔɯj/ [ˈbɯ.ʔɯɪ̯]
{{tl-IPA|bë7ëy}}IPA(key): /ˈbəʔəj/, [ˈbəː.ʔəɪ̯]
And yeah after some digging, the schwa is /ə/. I have no idea where the /ɯ/ came from (although I guess /ɯ/, /ə/, and /ɨ/ are often interchangeable depending on the dialect). — 🍕 Yivan000 viewtalk 15:29, 26 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Yivan000 Honestly, not sure if it's just a copy paste thing. The major changes for ilo-pron was 2022 with minor changes onwards. Also not sure if both languages handles stress the same way as well. Tagalog usually has the primary stress only on penultimate or the ultimate (as shown on the phonetic pronunciation), and the vowel lengths have been recently added in Tagalog pronunciation as well. 𝄽 ysrael214 (talk) 15:31, 26 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
